GARLIC


"Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food."

Those are famous words from the ancient Greek physician Hippocrates, often called the father of Western medicine. He actually used to prescribe garlic to treat a variety of medical conditions.

Nutritional Properties: Garlic has a medicinal ingredient called allicin that is noted for its antibacterial, antiviral, antioxidant, and anti-fungal properties. Plus it has loads of Vitamins such as A, B, B2, and C, as well as protein, potassium, calcium, protein, zinc, iron, copper, manganese, and selenium to boost your body immunity.


It is a herb that helps people fight several ailments and illnesses. Garlic actually belongs to the Onion family. Thankfully, it doesn’t make one cry! Originally from Central Asia, it has outstanding medicinal and healing values.




     BENEFITS OF GARLIC:-



1.  Consuming garlic juice with honey for a week kills stomach worms.


2.   Also, consuming 5-6 garlic cloves with boiled milk, turmeric and jaggery treat long-term cold and cough.


3.    Applying garlic with butter heals wounds.

4.   Consuming garlic with sugar syrup treats cough and provides effective relief for cough, nasal congestion, and sore throat.

5.   In addition, boiling 3-4 garlic clove with one glass of water and consuming it thrice a day cures menstrual pain.

6.   Consuming crushed one clove garlic with a pinch of hing and 10 grams of ghee twice a day after food reduces delivery pain.

7.   Applying crushed burnt garlic with turmeric cures boils.

           
                        

8.   To fix hairline cracks, rub crushed garlic juice on it.

9. Garlic is good for acne: Garlic has antibacterial, anti-fungal, antiviral, and antiseptic properties from allicin. Allicin helps to kill the bacteria causing acne. 10. GARLIC is good for HEART:  Garlic Improves Cholesterol Levels, Which May Lower the Risk of Heart Disease. Garlic can lower total and LDL cholesterol. For those with high cholesterol, garlic supplements appear to reduce total and/or LDL cholesterol by about 10–15%


11. GARLIC for SKIN TAGS:  Garlic helps improve the appearance of skin by reducing inflammation. To naturally get rid of a skin tag, apply crushed garlic over the tag, and then cover the area with a bandage overnight. Wash the area in the morning. Repeat until the skin tag shrinks and disappears.

25.  Finally, to peel the skin of the garlic easier, soak it in water for a few minutes.



GARLIC TEA:-

  •  In a pan, bring 3 cups of water and the 3 cloves of garlic to a boil. Turn off the heat when the water boils, and add 1/2 cup of honey and 1/2 cup of the fresh lemon juice. Strain.
  •   Sip 1/2 cup, warm, three times a day.








Notes:

·         Firstly, consuming excess garlic may cause mouth burn, nausea, diarrhea, bleeding of the nose.

·         Also avoid consuming garlic before surgeries.

·         Further make sure, not to consume more than 2-3 garlic pods per day.

·         In addition, consuming garlic is unsafe for pregnant women.

·         Always store garlic in a basket with ventilation holes and do not store in an air-tight container.

·         Also do not store garlic in the fridge as it may lose its flavor.

·         Additionally, applying garlic oil to skin and nails prevents fungal infections.

·         Also garlic improves bone health, boosts the immune system, and cures stomach aches, tooth sensitivity, and gastritis problems.

·         Finally, the other garlic benefits include applying garlic oil or rubbing crushed garlic to the head prevents hair loss.
