FLAX SEEDS
Flax seeds are small oil seeds that originated in the Middle East
centuries ago.
Lately, they
have emerged as a "superfood" because of their proven benefits.
Rich in omega-3 fatty acids and fiber, flax seeds are great for
overall health and
can be easily incorporated into our diet.
Flax seeds are rich in proteins. So, when you consume a teaspoon of flax seeds, along with dietary fiber, the protein content suppresses your appetite. This prevents you from overeating,
thereby helping you in losing weight. Flax seeds are low in starch and sugar, hence they are not high on calories.
It is plant-based omega 3 fatty acid.
Types of
There are two basic types of flax seeds, brown and golden. Both are good sources of alpha-linolenic acid.

HOW TO CONSUME FLAX SEEDS:-
- Dry roast flax seeds with a little SALT. You can eat 1 tsp daily.
- Its powder can be taken with CURD, BUTTERMILK, SOOTHES, SHAKES, add to chapatti flour, SALADS, DAL, can prepare CHUTNEY POWDER & OATMEAL.
- You can also make SPROUTS of FLAX SEEDS.
- Can prepare BURFI, ENERGY BAR, LADDOO, etc.
- Its characteristic is HOT, so one should not consume more.
- In winters we can take 2 tbs but in summer take only 1 tbs.
- We can eat 1 burfi in a day.
- Higher doses are likely to cause gastrointestinal side effects such as Bloating, Abdominal pain, Constipation.
