Licorice is the common name of Glycyrrhiza glabra. It has a sweet and aromatic flavor. The active ingredient is Glycyrrhizon also known as Glycyrrhizin acid. Because of its concentrated Triterpenoid Saponins & other health-promoting constituents, all species come from the genus Glyceriza and are members of the pea family.

  • For COUGH - Take a spoon of Licorice powder & a spoon of HONEY and eat (one can add these two in lukewarm water & drink).
  • Licorice powder can also be used as a type of sweetener.
  • It goes very well with Tulsi, Fennel, Mint, Anise, Cinnamon, and Ginger.
  • It is used to prepare candies, syrup, etc.
NOTE:-
  • Pregnant and nursing mothers should avoid it.
  • Hypertension patients should avoid it.
  • It is unsafe to use in large quantities for more than 4weeks. which may cause irregular heart rhythm, nervousness, fatigue, and low potassium level.
